Indulgent Hot Chocolate
Equipment
- 1 Mug
- 1 Small Pan
- 1 Bowl
Ingredients
- 10g (1tbsp) Cocoa Powder
- 200g (70z) Milk
- 70g (2oz) Whipping Cream
- 50g (1½oz) Dark Chocolate (70% Cocoa Solids)
- 10g (2tsp) Sugar
- 2g (½tsp) Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Put 10g of Cocoa Powder and 20g of the Cold Milk into a mug and stir into a paste. Don't ever add Cocoa Powder directly to a hot liquid
- Add 50g of grated Dark Chocolate, 10g of Sugar, 2g of Vanilla Extract, and give it another stir
- Take half of the cream (35g), and lightly whip it to the point where soft peaks will form
- Meanwhile, pour the remaining 180g of Milk into a small saucepan, along with the other 35g of Cream, and place on a low heat
- Stirring the whole time, warm the milky component until steam begins to rise, and the surface begins to bubble slightly
- Turn off the heat, and add around a third of the milk to the chocolatey mug, and stir briskly. Then, add the rest of the milk, and give it another good stir
- Pour the whole lot back in the pan, and once again, heat until steam begins to rise, stirring the whole time
- Once heated and stirred, return the mix to the mug, and top with the previously whipped cream
